Add a band of waving, sting-tipped ten tacles, and a ring of eyes that allows the monstrosity to look in all directions at once, and you have a Skurasha. Imagine a jelly-fish that stands seven feet tall on a dozen slime-trailing tentacles, that shuffles about dungeon passages in search of prey to suck the brains from. A few of their owners learn this language, but none can match the achievement of the Arch-wizard BELANDROS, who taught his KRELL speak the language of men (though, it must be said, in a thick eastern accent!). In their natural habitats, KRELL communicate in a complicated language of clicks and chatters. Occasionally, their masters will teach them simple tricks, such as juggling or tumbling, and some KRELL are dressed in miniature suits of clothes and taught to bow and be courteous.

In a fight, they can be quite vicious, hanging on to their foe with as many limbs as possible (often smothering their opponent’s face), and then biting with sharp, pointed teeth. They are highly suited to sneaking, spying, and thieving: as much at home clambering up walls and over roof-tops as they are swinging through trees. The quick wits of the KRELL make them ideal as pets or magical familiars for wizards and other characters. They live in small family groups, hunting and eating parrots, rats and other small creatures, as well as fruit and roots. In the wild, KRELL are very hard to find, since they are very shy creatures, who blend into the thick jungle foliage. Covered in thick mats of brown hair, they are incredibly nimble, and swing dextrously through the trees at great speeds. Originally found in the steamy jungles of the east, KRELL (often known as spider monkeys) are six-armed monkeys. HABITAT Wild = Jungles and Forests Tame = Anywhere If this alliance were to be successful, it would threaten the strength of the Merchant Princes of SILVERTON. Although Chalice is not a powerful military power, the Knights of the Chalice are famous for their dedication to chivalry and the bards sing songs of their brave exploits on the battlefield against the local goblins and orcs. The royal family of Chalice have recently been attempting to forge an alliance with the powerful City of SALAMONIS through the marriage of PRINCESS SARISSA, famed for her beauty across ALLANSIA, and PRINCE BARINJHAR of SALAMONIS. KING PINDAR is an astute politician, though his life is slowly fading, and he has maintained his kingdom’s standing, alongside the rich merchants of Silverton and the military might of Salamonis, through subtle political manoeuvring. The Kingdom of Chalice taxes the lucrative trade routes up and down the Silver River, transporting rich ingots and ores from the MOONSTONE HILLS. They are both trading partners, rivals, and allies. A small kingdom, to the south of DARKWOOD FOREST, with a complicated relationship with its neighbours: SALAMONIS and SILVERTON.
